Patch Notes 0.5.0

Early Access 3 patch notes released March 16th 2020

Features

  • Changes to the overworld and more lore items added.
  • Added some NPC dialogue to where it was missing.
  • Overhauled the player stats system
  • UI Redesign for the main menu, level selection and HUD
  • Changes to enemy AI, most enemies are slightly more aggressive and faster than before, and with shorter attack cooldowns.
  • More continual improvements to netcode
  • Groundwork finished for dynamic day/night cycle
  • In-world teleportation system in place (ready for EA4)
  • Overhauled firing effects for ranged weapons
  • Groundwork for the World Event system in place.
  • Groundwork for PVP zones
  • Footstep sounds added
  • New combat text and DPS meter
  • Ammo has been increased by a factor of 100. The cost is still the same but this allows for control over ammo use and damage output
  • New highlighting system.
  • Consumable framework
  • In-game advertising system framework for ingame and IRL ad (More details to come)


World Events

  • Culling - Killing as many creature as you can
  • Named Creature - One big boss. We recommend bringing a party to this!
  • Creature Waves - Increasing waves of difficulty
  • Currently wave events give Aurum prizes to the top 3 and 5 random players involved will receive a prize too.
  • Mining Enriched Events - Harvest Enriched Crystals for new recipes.


World Design

  • Minor changes to the world
  • New trees and terrain layout
  • Assets added to some buildings
  • More world assets


Items

  • Items can now have passive effects
  • Two Handed Spears (Can you find the super rare version?)
  • Attack Bracers - Lightening, Chain Lightning, Ice Ball.
  • New Armor set and stat variations
  • New clothing - Jumpsuits, Jackets, Trousers and recipes (colorerable)
  • Everyone should start with a Standard Issue jumpsuit
  • Backers will get a Backers only Jumpsuit
  • Lots a random lootables added


Skills, Professions & Passive Systems

  • Skills now save between sessions and have a use.
  • Currently skill gains are set to 100% increase
  • Profession levels now unlock passive skill points
  • Rifle, Swordsman, Shock Trooper, Sniper and Acrobat are currently in game (more to come)
  • Tailoring profession added
  • Gathering profession (see details below)
  • Items now can be locked behind certain passive tree points, requiring a certain skill level to use
  • Passive reset mechanism. Can you create the consumable required?


Gathering

  • Plant harvesting mechanics
  • Harvesting Knife available at the vendor
  • Color pigments added


Character Creator

  • On log in you will have the chance to customize your character.
  • Male and Female Avatars
  • 9 color changeable hairstyles
  • Custom eye colors
  • More to come over the next playtests


Sounds & Art

  • A huge number of changes with new UI and ability SFX
  • Mine tool and scanner SFX added and visuals updated
  • Added fall damage and low health sounds
  • Footstep sounds
  • More music
  • New models


Economy

  • Rebalanced mining location drops and drop rates
  • Rebalanced some crafting recipes and enabled some to drop
  • Added a larger recipe book version
  • General loot balances


Animations

  • New attack animations


Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where the chat wouldn’t synchronize between clients correctly
  • Fixed an issue where the inventory wouldn’t open sometimes from the pause menu
  • Hotbar is now persistent between sessions
  • Free radicals should no longer collide with players
  • Fixed issue where players could open UI’s while typing
  • Removed some debug console logging
  • Fixed an issue where recipes wouldn’t stick around between game sessions
  • Fixed an issue where clients wouldn’t see other players look direction
  • Fixed a bug where players could repair items through the matter manipulator that weren’t intended to be repairable
  • Fixed autorun being able to be used when dead and while typing
  • Fixed an issue where players could walk on the bottom of lakes with enough entry velocity
  • Hotkeys should now be removed when selling an item
  • Resolved the ‘Josh Bug’
  • Scanning tool now remembers mouse mode
  • Trees are now rooted and rocks have gravity
  • Titles now work and winners of custom Titles should have them available to use.
  • Aim mode stays after respawning. No more pressing tab!


QOL

  • New E to loot message (not so intrusive)
  • Your bullets will now fire where you aim
  • Ammo can be purchased in bigger stacks
  • Added toggle for total ammo vs total uses
  • Confirm Logout / Quit Dialog box
  • Added chat box font size selection through the options menu
